a) Documents issued in signatory countries of the Andrés Bello Agreement:
Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Spain and Venezuela.
The stamps of the following institutions are required to obtain the athentication through diplomatic channels:
- Education Ministery of the origin country for studies degrees and certificates. For birth and nationality certificates you must address to the appropriate ministry.
- Foreign Affairs Ministery of the origin country.
- Diplomatic or consular representation of Spain at the origin country.
b) Documents issued in signatory countries of the La Hague Agreement. The documents must have the Hague apostille, attached by the recognised authorities of the origin country:
Andorra, Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bahamas, Barbados, Belarus, Belgium, Belize, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Botswana, Brunei-Darussalam, Bulgary, China (only in the administrative regions of Macao and Hong Kong), Colombia, Cook Islands, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Dominica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Estonia, Fiji, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Grenada, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazajstan, Latvia, Lesotho, Liberia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malawi, Malta, Marshall Islands, Mauritius, Mexico, Monaco, Serbia and Montenegro, Mozambique, Namibia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Niue, Norway, Panama, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, Russian Federation, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Samoa, San Marino (Republic of), Seychelles, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Suriname, Swaziland, Sweden, Switzerland, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, United States of America, Venezuela and Yugoslavia.
c) Documents issued in those countries not included in the previous situations: they must be diplomatically authenticated by the following institutions:
- Education Ministery of the origin country for studies degrees and certificates. For birth and nationality certificates you must address to the appropriate ministry.
- Foreign Affairs Ministery of the origin country.
- Diplomatic or consular representation of Spain at the origin country.
All degrees issued in a language different from the official languages in Spain must be accompaigned by the corresponding spanish traslation, which can be done by any of the following:
a) The diplomatic or consular representation of Spain abroad.
b) The diplomatic or consular representation of the applicant's or the document's origin country in Spain.
c) A translator legally authorised or registered in Spain.
