The thesis supervisor (or one of the supervisors, if more than one has been appointed) can be changed at any time before the thesis deposit, at the request of the Academic Committee, the current supervisor(s) or the student. A written request outlining the reasons for the proposed changed must be submitted. If the new supervisor belongs to the same doctoral programme, approval must be given by the Academic Committee.

If the change of supervisor requires transfer to a different doctoral programme, the request must follow the procedure described in article 5.6 of the academic regulations for doctoral studies (20 July 2011).

The change of thesis supervisor will not come into effect until a new statement of commitment has been signed by the student and the new supervisor(s) (for supervisors from the UPC).
