When and how will I receive my certificate?

You will receive an e-mail with instructions from the managing unit when your certificate is ready for collection.

The official certificate must be collected in person by the interested party, who will be required to show their current official identity document.

If you cannot collect it personally, you have two options:

  • You may grant a third party permission to collect the certificate on your behalf. In this case, the original power of attorney or a certified copy must be presented at the time of collection. A power of attorney granted in a foreign country must be duly legalised for it to be valid in Spain. In addition, the power of attorney can be written in Catalan, Spanish or English.

  • If you live outside the province of Barcelona, you may instruct the managing unit of the doctoral programme to send your certificate to the authorised governmental entity or consulate closest to where you live. In this case, you will have to pay the corresponding fee.
