The UPC celebrates the first European Doctoral Day with the photography contest "Scientific Perspectives: Research in Images".

On May 13th, the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - BarcelonaTech (UPC) celebrated the first European Doctoral Day, a European initiative aimed at highlighting doctoral research and the role of PhD students in generating knowledge and innovation.

As previously announced, the Doctoral School joined this celebration by launching the first research photography contest "Scientific Perspectives: Research in Images", an initiative that has showcased the research developed at the UPC through original, creative, and highly impactful visual images.

As part of the event, the permanent exhibition of the five winning photographs was inaugurated yesterday at the Nexus II Building – Campus Nord, attended by three of the five winning authors. During the ceremony, the official certificates and prize checks were also presented.

The winning photographs of this first edition were:

  • Diana Hernández Barrera  Camí a la descarbonització
  • Èlia Mateu Barriendos  Objectiu: Intel·ligència a la Lluna
  • Francesc Barberà Flichi  Nanoscale Deformation of Cemented Carbides
