Are you curious what it is like to be a doctoral student?

20/04/2026

Are you considering pursuing a research career after your Master’s? We are hosting a joint event across all Unite! universities where you can connect with researchers to learn about their doctoral journeys.

Many students think about continuing with research after their masters’ studies. For you, we organize an event together with the Unite! universities where you can meet with researchers who tell about their doctoral studies, what was driving them to enter doctoral studies, what it is like to be a researcher and about opportunities that can open for you after doctoral studies.
The event begins with talks by researchers who tell about their everyday experience. The researchers are working in different academic areas in the European universities that make up the Unite! University network. The Unite! Doctoral Promotion Session will take place on 21 April 2026 and will be structured in two parts.
  • The first hour will be a common Unite! session, including talks and interactive discussions with researchers from the Unite! partner universities. This part of the event will be online https://aalto.zoom.us/j/68958754491 password 348179
    Registration to the event: https://metacampus.unite-university.eu/mod/feedback/view.php?id=3945
  • In the second part of the session, participants will be able to connect to the online session of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), coordinated by the Secretary of the UPC Doctoral School, Jordi Pons Prats. This session will provide specific information about doctoral studies at UPC and will address questions related to doctoral training.  Google Meet: https://meet.google.com/xaa-eosg-gnj
In addition, UPC will hold its Doctoral Open Doors Day on 14 May 2026. This event will take place in person in Barcelona and will also be available via streaming, allowing prospective doctoral students to learn more about access and admission procedures, scholarships, doctoral programmes and other key aspects of PhD studies.
Further information, including access details and the video of the online session, will be available on the UPC Doctoral School website.
