Celebration of the Doctoral Graduation Ceremony (10-04-2025)
Apr 14, 2025
On Thursday, 10 April 2025, the first graduation ceremony of the UPC Doctoral School took place – a highly significant moment of celebration for our entire university community, and especially for the recent graduates.
The ceremony, led by the Director of the Doctoral School, Dr Cristina Canal Barnils, featured talks by Dr Montserrat Charles-Harris Ferrer and Dr Milad Komary, who introduced the UPC Alumni Club, a network designed to keep graduates connected with the university community after graduation, under the motto "Always accompanied, always connected".
The highlight of the event came when the Rector of UPC, Daniel Crespo Artiaga; the Vice-Rector for Research, Jordi Llorca Piqué; and representatives of the Doctoral School – Director Dr Cristina Canal Barnils, Secretary Dr Jordi Pons Prats, and Deputy Director Dr Lluís Jofre Cruanyes – took to the stage to accompany the graduates in the most solemn moment of the ceremony. The graduates read their doctoral pledge while the Rector conferred upon them the doctoral cap and presented them with the UPC badge.
The event concluded with a moving performance by the Cor-Ol·ari choir, who opened the ceremony with the song "Escriurem" and closed it with "Gaudeamus", an iconic piece that added a touch of solemnity and joy to the occasion.
From the Doctoral School, we would like to congratulate all graduates on their achievement and wish them a bright future in their professional and academic paths.
The next graduation ceremony of the Doctoral School is scheduled for 16 April 2026.
