"Create – Protect – Innovate: Bringing ideas to market", new course by the European Patent Office

The European Patent Academy, the training unit of the European Patent Office, offers a course for doctoral students interested in deepening their knowledge of intellectual and industrial property, specifically in the protection and commercialization of inventions.

The program includes the introductory course, Create — Protect — Innovate (MIPEF Part I), which covers the following topics:

Introduction to IP Patent essentials Introduction to patent information Patent information in practice Developing an IP strategy
An overview of Intellectual Property rights, serving as an introduction to the field. What is a patent and what are the requirements to obtain one? Intro to patent information and its characteristics, how to access patent information. Introduction to Espacenet and European Patent Register, use cases and exercises. Tapping the economic benefits from your ideas.
