SAFE “Supporting At-risk researchers with Fellowships in Europe” project launch
Nov 15, 2024
The launch of the project SAFE “Supporting At-risk researchers with Fellowships in Europe”, funded by the European Union, has been announced. This project will offer up to 60 fellowships for at-risk researchers from non-EU countries, allowing them to conduct research at a higher education and/or research institution in Europe for up to 24 months. This initiative addresses the growing need to provide a safe environment for these researchers to continue their work within the EU.
The call will open on November 18, 2024. Applications must be submitted by potential host institutions, not by the researchers themselves. Each host institution can submit only one application.
While some host institutions are already in contact or collaborating with at-risk researchers, others have not yet identified suitable candidates. To meet this need, SAFE offers a matchmaking service to help European institutions and at-risk researchers connect, facilitating the identification of suitable researchers for host offers.
Furthermore, the SAFE launch and information event will be held virtually on November 19, 2024, from 14:00 to 15:30 CET. This webinar aims to inform potential EU host institutions and at-risk researchers of any non-European nationality about the call. Registration for the event will be open until November 18 via the following link.
