UPC statement on the situation in Ukraine

The UPC condemns the aggression of Putin's government against Ukraine and we send our solidarity to the Ukrainian population. The University is an institution committed to peace and, therefore, we have always raised and will always raise our voice against war, which is the failure of reason.

We will continue to advocate that human values, diplomacy and international law within the framework of the United Nations must be the basis for ending a conflict that is already causing enormous suffering. At the same time, we send a message of support and encouragement to the Ukrainian community at our university and throughout the country, and we are at their disposal for whatever they may need. We are working on this matter in coordination with the Catalan university system and other institutions.
