UPC researcher Enrique Jiménez Meroño awarded the VI National Award for Research on Urban and Metropolitan Mobility

The Association of Management Companies for Collective Urban Transportation (ATUC) has announced the winners of the VI National Award for Research on Urban and Metropolitan Mobility. One of them is Enrique Jiménez Meroño, UPC doctor in the Civil Engineering programme with the BIT - Barcelona Innovative Transportation research group, directed by professor Francesc Soriguera.

Jiménez Meroño and Andrés Rodríguez Gutiérrez, from the Universidad de Cantabria, have been awarded ex aequo for their work on shared vehicle systems and parking planning. The jury also awarded a special mention to Pau Cardona Olives, UPC alumni.

Both winners will share the award, which includes 4,000 euros.

The award ceremony took place on September 26, 2025 in Sevilla, as part of the 31st National Congress of Urban and Metropolitan Transport.
