1st Graduation Ceremony for UPC Doctors

The Doctoral School is organising the first graduation ceremony for doctoral graduates who completed their degrees during 2024 and 2025 (up until the date of the ceremony). The aim is to recognise the research driven by the UPC through the doctoral graduates of the PhD programmes.

During the ceremony, the Rector will confer the laurelled cap upon the new doctors and present them with the UPC insignia. The programme includes a speech by one of the graduates, who will speak on behalf of the rest of the graduating doctors. The event will feature a performance by the UPC Choir and, at the end, a toast will be held to commemorate the occasion.

This ceremony will be held annually every April with the same purpose of recognising and celebrating the achievements of each year's new doctoral graduates.

15:30 - 15:35 h	Performance by Cor Ol·lari.
15:35 - 15:45 h	Welcome and opening of the event by Cristina Canal, Director of the Doctoral School.
15:45 - 15:50 h	Speech by Dr. Jordi Llorca, Vice-Rector for Research.
15:50 - 16:05 h	Speech by Dr. Montserrat Ruth Charles-Harris Ferrer.
16:05 - 16:10 h	Speech by UPC Alumni.
16:10 - 17:05 h	Investiture ceremony of the new doctors by UPC: reading of the doctoral oath, bestowal of the laurelled biretta and presentation of the UPC insignia.
17:05 - 17:10 h	Speech on behalf of the new doctors by Dr. Lucía Amalia Carrasco Ribelles.
17:15 - 17:25 h	Closing speech by Dr. Daniel Crespo, Rector of the UPC.
17:25 - 17:30 h	Gaudeamus by Cor Ol·lari.
17:30 - 18:00 h	Celebratory toast.
