Jul 10, 2025

The Fundació Catalana per a la Recerca i la Innovació (FCRI) and the Department of Research and Universities of the Government of Catalonia, through the Interuniversity Council of Catalonia, have organised —together with twelve Catalan universities and with the collaboration of the “la Caixa” Foundation— the eighth edition of the Present your thesis in 4 minutes contest. The aim is for participants to explain their research in a maximum of four minutes, using clear, simple, and accessible language for a general audience.

12 finalists (7 women and 5 men) took part in the grand final of the contest, held on the 3rd of July at the Auditorium of the “la Caixa” Foundation Space in Girona. They were selected from among the 154 contestants (56% women, 44% men) who competed in the internal qualifying rounds at the Catalan universities. Representing Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, José Enrique Domínguez Vidal presented his engaging thesis: Human Intention and Its Use in Human–Robot Interaction.
