Becas Santander "Dones i Ciència" | PhD Buddy Program UPC 2026

Banco Santander, through the Becas Santander "Dones i Ciència" | PhD Buddy Program UPC 2026 program, offers financial grants to female doctoral students and recent graduates with experience who wish to act as mentors for new female PhD students to facilitate their integration.

  1. Number of scholarships and grant amount

    For the year 2026, 23 grants of €2,000 each are available.

  2. Who can apply?

    Second and third-year female doctoral students enrolled in a UPC PhD program and Recent female doctors (less than 18 months) with a current UPC contract ending after June 30, 2027.   

  3. Obligations of the mentors
    • Provide guidance to 1 to 3 mentees within their academic field
    • Attend the initial training sessions (2 sessions)
    • Participate in the activities of the PhD Buddy Program UPC network

    From April 27 to May 31, 2026.

  5. How to apply

    To be eligible for the grant, a double application must be processed through both the Santander Open Academy platform and the UPC e-office:

  6. Application forms and documentation to be submitted                                                                      The application form must be filled out directly at the UPC e-office, attaching:
    • Proof of registration on the Becas Santander platform (copy of the registration confirmation email).
    • Motivation letter indicating participation or experience in activities similar to the program, associations, or volunteering (check prioritization criteria in the terms and conditions).
    • For doctoral candidates without active enrollment, a Curriculum Vitae must be included.
