Call for Santander Scholarships for PhD candidates to participate as mentors in the new UPC PhD Buddy Program (academic year 2026–2027)

The call for Santander Scholarships “Women and Science” is now open to participate in the PhD Peer Mentoring Program (UPC PhD Buddy Program) during the 2026–2027 academic year.

This program promotes peer mentoring with the aim of improving the integration, well-being, and academic development of PhD candidates, with special attention to supporting women in STEM fields.

The program offers:

• Peer support among PhD candidates (mentors and mentees)
• Mentorship training
• Networking and community activities

What does the scholarship include?

• 23 scholarships for PhD mentors
• A grant of €2,000 gross

Eligible applicants include female UPC PhD candidates (second or third year) and recent female PhD graduates affiliated with the university (with an active contract ending after June 30, 2027), who are available to actively participate throughout the academic year.

The application period runs from April 27 to May 31, 2026.
