The Doctoral School of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) is organising the second graduation ceremony for doctoral graduates who obtained their degree in 2025 and 2026, with the aim of recognising the excellence in research promoted by the University through its doctoral programmes.

The ceremony is a solemn and celebratory event that marks the culmination of the academic and scientific efforts of the new doctoral graduates. During the event, the Rector of the UPC will formally confer the doctoral degree through the reading of the doctoral pledge, the conferral of the doctoral cap, and the presentation of the Doctoral School insignia, symbolising the attainment of the highest academic degree.

The programme includes several institutional addresses, as well as a speech by one of the doctoral graduates, who will speak on behalf of the graduating cohort. The ceremony will also feature lectures by invited doctoral alumni and musical accompaniment performed by a choir. The event will conclude with the traditional academic anthem Gaudeamus igitur, followed by a celebratory toast.

This ceremony will be held annually every April with the same purpose of recognising and celebrating the achievements of each year's new doctoral graduates.
