The ERC-StG SCRAMBLE project is hiring! We are looking to incorporate in our team highly motivated, problem solving people to overcome the energy frontier in microfluidics by microconfining turbulence (https://twitter.com/FluidMechLJC):

Inspired by Richard Feynman’s thought-provoking 1959 speech “There’s Plenty of Room at the Bottom”, humanity has witnessed the most rapid technology development in its history --- the miniaturization of devices and systems. However, the opportunities enabled by understanding and controlling microscale phenomena have been mostly unleveraged to improve energy processes. This is a well-recognized unsolved problem in the thermal-fluid sciences. Therefore,the main goal of the SCRAMBLE project is to overcome this limitation by pioneering the miniaturization of turbulence into microfluidic systems by leveraging the thermophysical properties of supercritical fluids.

The project will start in April 2022 and will be developed at the new campus Diagonal-Besòs of Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - BarcelonaTECH (Barcelona, Spain).

We offer 4 PhD (4 years) & 2 postdoctoral (2-3 years) positions on computational studies, laboratory experiments, data science & uncertainty quantification.
